MATTHEW 25 – LET’S KEEP OUR LAMPS ON

“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, The Bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with Him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.” Matthew 25,10

In Matthew 25, The Lord Jesus uses the parable of the ten virgins to show us once again the importance of preparing ourselves for His Coming. We must act like the wise virgins, so that we may be ready to welcome Him at all times, and that He may find us active in doing His Work.

When we receive The Holy Spirit, we are born again. We move from the world of darkness to the world of light. The Lord Jesus compares us to lighted lamps.

“Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” Matthew 5:15

As children of God, children of light, we must behave according to The Rules of The Kingdom of Light, The Kingdom Of God, that is to say, among others things, to walk in truth, justice, love, peace, etc …

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in The Lord. Live as children of light” Ephesians 5.8

“… so that you may become blameless and pure, “children Of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky” Philippians 2:15

We are also called to proclaim The Praises Of God Who saved us, and also to practice the good works He has prepared for us.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare The Praises Of Him Who called you out of darkness into His Wonderful Light.” 1 Peter 2:9

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.” Matthew 5,16

Such are the ways for keeping our lamps lighted while awaiting The Coming Of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
