““We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
“Bring them here to Me,” He said. And He directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to Heaven, He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.” Matthew 14:17-20
In Matthew 14, The Lord Jesus fed a crowd of more than five thousand people with five loaves and two fishes. For the disciples of Jesus, feeding such a crowd seemed impossible given the small amount of food they had. But The Lord Jesus showed them that when You give Him the little you have, He can do great things.
We often hesitate to serve God, to help our neighbor, because we think we do not have enough gifts/talents or not enough money. With the multiplication of loaves and fishes, The Lord Jesus encourages us to give what we have (our time, our gifts / talents, our money, etc …) no matter the amount, in thanksgiving, and He will do great things for The Glory Of God.
