My second meditation on Matthew 6 is on the theme “Acting for The Glory Of God.”
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven.” Matthew 6:1
Let us not seek glory from men. When we act, let’s not do so in order to attract men’s eyes on us, but rather in order to please God. What we do for God must be done discreetly, if we can, in that way, God Who Is Spirit and Who searches the heart, knows that our intentions are sincere. The approval of men does not guarantee us The Approval Of God. For men look at the outward appearance, but God looks on the inside, deep in the heart of man and can tell if intentions are good or not.
So let’s make sure that we act for The Glory Of God, and not for our own glory.
