I read Genesis 6 and meditated on the theme “Seeking to please God.”

Genesis 6 introduces the story of the flood, when God decided to destroy all His creatures, except for Noah and his family, because of the wickedness of man and violence.

“But Noah found grace in The Eyes Of The Lord. This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.” Genesis 6:8-9

God has decided to spare Noah and his family because Noah behaved in a way that pleased God : he was just and perfect in his generations despite the fact that the world in which he lived was corrupted.

Likewise, we Christians should follow the example of Noah and try to walk according to God’s Way, be just and perfect in our generation regardless of our environment. We should not try to adapt to the wicked ways of the world, but rather should try to differentiate ourselves by behaving in a manner that is pleasing to God.

We should each try to answer these questions : What if there was a flood today, would I be spared? Am I trying to adapt to the wicked ways of the world? Or am I following God’s Path?
