I read Genesis 2 and made a connection with “Man and woman in marriage.” I noticed that God had, from the outset, established the role of man and woman in marriage.
“The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
God therefore wanted the woman to be a helper to man in marriage, a companion.
” Then The Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man.” Genesis 2,22
The woman was made from the man’s rib. So the man and woman complement each other; however, the man is the head of the family.
“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” Genesis 2,24
Even though the man is the head of the family, the man and woman in marriage become one flesh; therefore, the man must care about the woman’s happiness as much as his since they form one flesh.
